1. Make them go first

Your salary negotiation could literally begin with your very first conversation with someone at the company.

That first call is often called the “pre-screen” or “pre-interview”, and you’ll usually talk with an internal recruiter at the company.

This question might sound familiar because it’s become a standard part of the recruiting process:
